At Gold Coast Watersports we asked some of our guests to recount their parasailing experience. First up Sue and Keith from Wales.
Keith and Sue come to Australia every year to see their daughters who have migrated here and it’s a great excuse to celebrate every birthday and Christmas in three action packed weeks. This year their daughters got them a parasailing experience so they could see the Gold Coast from a very different perspective.
Sue has a fear of heights and is a little scared of the water, so parasailing didn’t really seem like the perfect gift for her.
Their daughters waved them off and Sue and Keith took to the water to get ready for their adventure, whilst Keith was excited and raring to go, Sue sat quietly and worried that she was going to hate every minute.
The staff soon pick up on Sue’s anxiety and spent time talking to her and reassuring her that it would all be ok, and before we knew it she was stood up and ready to go.
As the parasail lifted so did Sue’s spirits; before we knew it, Sue was smiling and laughing and giving us the thumbs up. Whilst in the air Sue and Keith took in the breath-taking 360-degree view whilst they laughed and joked about how they’d finally found a place on the Gold Coast that their grandkids couldn’t interrupt them.
Soaring through the air, Sue and Keith were surprised at how serene and peaceful the parasailing experience was. Gone were their nerves and in their place a sense of adventure. After getting over the fear of the unknown Sue and Keith were able to share the Birdseye views of the stunning Gold Coast, even spotting some Dolphins on their trip.
Sue and Keith lapped up every second of the parasailing experience and are planning on returning in 2019.
‘These are memories I’ll cherish for a lifetime, the view, the company and the whole experience was amazing – thank you’ Keith said.
But what did Sue have to say……
‘I can’t believe I did that! I had to get the pictures to prove to everyone, including myself that I did it! I loved every second, thank you so much for putting me at ease and giving me the confidence to try it. I’ll see you next year!!’
Sue and Keith definitely started their holiday on a high and we look forward to seeing them next year. I wonder if we can get them on a Flyboard Extreme next time??
